It's MAY!!

Wow, so apparently I have been slacking on this whole blog-update-deal. Oops. It all started when my computer accidently fell from our counter and was out of commission for a while. Imagining typing a blog update on my iphone wasn't too appealing. Then, life happened. Puppy raising, work, marriage, traveling.. you get the picture. So, I am finally sitting down to update!

May. I love the sound of it. Flowers blooming, birds chirping, hubby sniffling (poor allergy stricken guy), warm evenings, the end of the semester, and our anniversary! I am guiddy that we will be reaching our first year milestone in a few short weeks, I suppose we should plan what we are going to do :-) Too fun!

Our puppy is growing very, very quickly. She is up to 32lbs now and has lost many of her teeth (some of which I have helped with, ha). She is funny, sweet, ocassionally a pill, and we are head over heels in love. For now, she is our baby. She goes with us everywhere, and one of her favorite places to visit is Sacramento State. I am pretty sure it is because of the IMMENSE amount of attention she receives from students, and of course the occasional squirrel she gets to scare up a tree. All she needs is Sac State gear she will be an official attendee. Perhaps she could be the CRU at Sac State mascot!

Greg and I are doing well, we love being married. We have fallen in love with Elk Grove and hope to become more settled in this summer. Prayerfully God will keep us here awhile because it is quickly becoming a place near to our hearts. I still miss my parents terribly, and pray for a miracle to happen so we can be near each other again. Not sure what that would look like, but if God needed to rearrage the country (in a very safe way of course) so that Virginia and California were neighbors I would not complain :-)

As summer approaches Greg and I agree that we are ready! BBQ's, softball games, frozen yogurt, and long evening walks sound incredibly inticing. With just two more weeks on campus that is a very close reality. But for now, we will focus on finishing the spring. And I promise I will try to keep you all updated more regularly ;-)

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Yesterday Greg turned 32. It was a great day, even though it poured rain! I enjoyed celebrating my husband's birthday for the first time. Greg metioned that he hopes to spend all of his birthdays from now on with me. He said, "I have spent 30 birthdays apart from you, so I have to celebrate at least the next 31 with you." Such a sweet guy. (I of course told him I hope it is more like the next 70 :-)) In light of Greg's birthday I thought I would share 32 things I love/admire about him:

1. His smile, it warms my heart.
2. His soft blue eyes (yay for blue! He is the only one in his immediate family that has blue eyes, and I am thrilled he does).
3. His excitement for games. Sports games, card games, board games, or even made-up games.
4. That he is a kid at heart.
5. His love for sweets. (I think he has more than one sweet tooth!)
6. His walk with the Lord. So passionate and real.
7. The way he loves me.
8. His sentimental side.
9. Watching him play with our pup Bailey
10. His intelligence, he is so smart!
11. The way he knows how to solve or set up anything eletronical. I love being married to an IT guy.
12. How he is handy around the house. Good ol' Tim the Tool Man Taylor (minus all the blowing up his creations).
13. That he is a dreamer and can cast vision better than me.
14. That he loves my cooking.
15. His very TENDER heart, such a sensitive guy.
16. That he suprised me with Bailey because he knew how badly I desired to have a puppy, even if he didnt really want one. (And yes, she has stolen his heart :-))
17. How musically talented he is. I love listening to him play guitar or piano.
18. How he geniunely cares for others.
19. That he is a leader. Period.
20. That he is not afraid to tell me I am being ridiculous. (Yes, it does happen.. ocasionally.)
21. How he has learned so much since we got married.
22. How excited he gets about things his heart is passionate for.
23. That he desires to be a dad, a good godly one.
24. That he adores me.
25. How he respects and loves my family.
26. That he handles our finances, and does an excellent job.
27. That he is willing to clean, although he hates it.
28. That is an outstanding role model to our students.
29. How he knows his Bible and our Lord so well.
30. How he will never settle for second best.
31. That I can trust him fully with my life and our future.
32. That he is mine, and I am his!

This may have been a bit to sappy for most of you. But, I love my husband and I am not ashamed of that! :-)

Happy Birthday babe, I love you!

Our newest (and cutest) addition!

I have been meaning to sit down and write this blog for over a week now. But, I have been running, training, loving, and cuddling with our newest addition: Bailey Triplett. She is a 13 week old, black, sweet, and adorable Labrador Retriever. Look at this face:

Aw, that face makes my heart melt. We are in LOVE, but life has changed just a bit. I thought I would catch you all up on the cute and quirky things about our pup:

1. She loves to cuddle
2. Ice cubes are her new favorite toy (quite funny to watch)
3. She has already grown in the week and a half that we have had her
4. She loves water and a few times I have had a surprise visitor while I am in the shower
5. I now have a little shadow that follows me everywhere I go
6. Her water bowl, leash, collar, and assorted items are PINK (surprise, surprise)
7. I am more than ready for the day when her razor sharp fangs fall out: they hurt!
8. She has a best (stuffed animal) friend she carries around the house named Chip
9. She isn't the best on a leash yet, and doesn’t love car rides all too much
10. She is learning more and more each day, and is quite smart
11. Food, eating, and sleeping may be her most favorite activities in the WHOLE world
12. She is LOVED a ton

Hopefully I will keep you updated on the life of Miss Bailey. She is so sweet and keeps us laughing all day long. Greg already loves her and it is adorable to see him play with her. We are excited to have a new member of our family and look forward to watching her grow! For now, it is bed time:
