As many of you know yesterday was Superbowl Sunday. People all over the country were excited to watch football, cheer for their favorite team, make bets and eat (lots and lots) of yummy food. My husband, being one of them :-) Yet, I was excited for a completely different reason. Shocking, I know.
We watched the game at my sister-in-law's house in the east bay. She had it all; a nice TV, comfy couch, yummy food, family to cheer with, and my personal favorite; Bria Marie. The giggling, chattering, adorable, and energy packed two year old, I proudly call my niece. And that is what I was most excited about.
Throughout the night as the football game played out, I was busy playing with Bria. We played "Bria's Ice Cream Shop", placed Princess stickers on coloring pages, and she even nicely shared her blue berries with me. She kept me busy helping her make pretend ice cream sundaes for all members of the family and the two of us even shared a few pretend banana splits. She laughed, giggled, squealed, and chatted the night away; and I loved every minute of it.
Needless to say, I love my little niece and Superbowl 2011 may just be my favorite so far. I'm not too sure who won, the plays that happened, or tackles made and I am positive neither does Bria. But to quote her exactly, and to show her football knowledge and enthusiasm whenever a team scored, "touchdown Raiderrrssssss!" Okay, mabye her dad is a Raiders fan? Either way, football was much better with a tiny little voice saying, "Auntie Manda, come play."
:) this makes Bria's mama smile!!!
